Lemar McNair was born in Baton Rouge, La. and spent most of his adulthood in New Orleans, La.; having recently moved to Los Angeles six years ago. He is a board member of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ Community Development Corporation, whereby he provides oversight over the many real estate development projects that are in progress. The organization contructs low income housing for residents in the community. An engineer by profession, Lemar has an extensive background as a Project Manager in the oil industry and currently works with Conoco-Phillips Company, where he is responsible for overseeing a variety of multi-million dollar projects and is also college recruiter for recruiting new engineering students that are graduating from college. Also, at ConocoPhillips he is a member of the board of directors for the company Political Action Committee (PAC) that provides oversight for campaign contributions to political candidates. He has expertise in the area of scope development, engineering design, financial control and construction. Additionally, Lemar has extensive experience as a real estate investor and developer. Lemar serves on the board of the Greater Metropolitan Educational Association which provides scholarships for college bound students, Working to Help which provides job training for unskilled community residents and Soldiers of the Second Coming which is a ministry founded by Billy Davis Jr and Marilyn McCoo which provides a platform to praise and worship the Lord. He is a member of the New Leaders and a past officer in the Community Service division. A graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., where he received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He and his wife Linda have four children and five grandchildren.
